Engineering Manager

PETRONAS Lubricants International - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The Engineering Manager works within the HO Manufacturing & Engineering group, alongside the Project Director(s), Process engineers and Contract Management to develop Front End Engineering Projects and Owner Engineering, along with Engineering-led EPC projects.

The position is also responsible for all Engineering-led EPCM projects and Brownfield capital work projects where the client is not the incumbent engineering and maintenance services contractor.

Lead Engineering discussions regarding all engineering based requirements
Prepare design basis documents.
Liaise with Design & Contractor engineering personnel.
Liaise with other Discipline Engineering Managers.
Hold regular meetings with the Project Managers
Circulate relevant correspondence amongst the appropriate process engineers, and where applicable, the other discipline Engineering Managers.
Support process engineers on scope of work, contractual matters, design organisation, project schedule and change control.
Ensure process engineers are familiar with relevant company standards, manuals, specifications, datasheets and forms.
Review and ensure PLI standards are met with regards to;
- design correspondence files and other design basis documents and reports for reference.
- Inter Disciple Review of drawings, datasheets, schedules, calculations, specifications, requests for quotation and technical bid evaluations from all disciplines.
- design man-hour budgets for process engineering.
- design progress for all design documents
Liaise with the Project Team Members;
Drawing Office Manager
Procurement Department on the preparation of bidder lists, requests for quotation, technical bid evaluations, vendor document review, material inspection and release and final vendor performance appraisals
Estimating Department.
Scheduling Department.
Development of company standards & documents.
Evaluate and incorporate new design initiatives at a company level.
