We, an International Construction Company, based in Riyadh - Saudi Arabia, are urgently looking staff for the position of a MEP Procurement Engineer
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering.
Main Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the procurement of project specific MEP materials, equipment and services, in accordance with the project’s requirements, in an ethical, professional and consistent way.
-Review incoming Project Requisitions, verifying its inclusion of clear and comprehensive requirements.
-Liaise with the project’s team seeking necessary clarifications and/or updates, and interfering in procurement related matters as and when necessary (Pre/Post-order stages).
-Perform vendors/subcontractors’ pre-qualifications and assessment conclusions, based on quality of products and/or services, reliability, resources availability and capabilities (staff/manpower/eqpt., etc …), financial stability, and performance history.
-Compile a list of qualified vendors/subcontractors to be invited for bidding, based on the available database and market research as necessary.
-Prepare and issue Requests For Quotations (RFQ).
-Expedite and review the offers ensuring that vendors are addressing appropriately and completely the RFQ; prepare and update techno-commercial tabulations (Vetting sheets) focusing on the lowest 3 to 4 bidders; call for the necessary clarifications and/or confirmations required from each of those bidders, and determine the best techno-commercial bid.
-Discuss and consult with the MEP Procurement Manager for deciding on course of action.
-Prepare Material Submittals (MTS) for client/consultant’s approval as required.
-Provide data input to the procurement tracking system and monitor the status of the procurement process from enquiry to order issuance, including the identification and expediting of critical items and propose suitable remedial actions.
Work Experience:
Mini 5 years work experience in the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a similar position with an MEP Contractor undertaking turnkey MEP projects in the building construction, preferably in the GCC.
Skills and other characteristics:
High communication and negotiation skills with good command of English language; details-oriented with high level of integrity and trustworthiness; organized and able to plan workload in a structured manner and prioritize actions to satisfy the project’s requirements and deadlines; aware of the local, regional and international supply market; computer literate, good knowledge in MS Office applications; well-groomed with pleasant personality, tolerant & hardworking.
