Job Summary
Oversee, manage and evaluate the performance of Accounting and Reporting functions, reporting to the Finance Director
Drive the development and implementation of accounting and reporting processes, policies and tools
Oversee execution of all accounting activities (general ledger, receivables, payables, invoicing)
Key Responsibilities
Oversee, manage and evaluate the performance of all Accounting and Reporting departments
Oversee the development of accounting policies, standards and processes
Oversee inflow-logging and payment-processing (corporate, projects, payroll, etc.)
Manage projects’ accounting books
Oversee the financial accounting of all transactions
Ensure implementation of accounting policies and procedures, and compliance with accounting policies and procedures
Manage accounting systems, in coordination with IT
Liaise with external auditors and facilitate in financial statement validation
Oversee development of financial statements
Review forecast of costs and timelines based on changes in projects
Organize the provision of ad hoc and special analyses for instance payroll analysis, financial analysis for departments and cash flow forecasting
Follow up on receivables and oversee closing of payables
Ensure timely payment of invoices
Conduct financial control of all projects
Ensure bank account reconciliations
Support the Finance Director’s participation in management committees and Board meetings by providing advice and insights on various financial decisions as requested
Identify Accounting and Reporting training needs and provide trainings as required
Prepare and oversee the budget for the Accounting and Reporting Department
Propose the Accounting and Reporting Department’s objectives and KPIs for endorsement by the Finance Director
Perform any other duties as determined by the Finance Director
Required Education, Experience and Competencies
Education
Bachelor degree in Accounting
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly recommended
Experience
A minimum of 6 years of experience in financial accounting and management, at least 4 years of which should be in a senior management level in a large construction company.
Prior experience in accounting within real estate or related industry is preferred
Experience in KSA/MENA markets is highly recommended
Competencies
Excellent financial analysis skills
Strong understanding of local and international accounting principles
Knowledge of and ability to apply international accounting standards
Vigilance and detail oriented
Strong understanding of the construction industry
A track record of achieving results in past employment in an accounting area
Very good relationship building and interpersonal skills
Thorough knowledge of the theory and practice of change management in a financial context
Proficiency in Arabic and English languages
